Non Pro

156 horses entered across the four levels of the Quarter Dream IRHA-IRHBA-NRHA and IRHA-NRHA Non Pro Derby rode for a spot under the lights on Finals night. Once the last horse left the arena, the two top contenders from Section 1 held the lead in the Level (L)4: Elena Kompatscher and Monster Made (NRHA Two Million Dollar Sire Inferno Sixty Six x Madeof Pure Spangled), bred by Cardinal Hill Training Center LLC and owned by Jacopo Rossi, who also lead the L3 IRHA-IRHBA-NRHA and L3 IRHA-NRHA; Carlo Ambrosini aboard BMS Walla Getcha Gun (Walla Whiz Crome x Ally Get Your Gun), owned by Ambrosini Quarter Horses and bred by Barbara Seibold who lead the IRHA-NRHA L4 Non Pro.

Bo Brutsaert and KB CJ Gun (CJ Whiz x KB Jenny Whiz A Gun), bred and owned by Koen Brutsaert, marked a 219.5 to lead both the IRHA-IRHBA-NRHA and the IRHA-NRHA L2 Non Pro Derby.

Scoring a 215.5, Sarah Stocker and Colonels Charmingun (NRHA Three Million Dollar Sire Shiners Voodoo Dr x Okie Smokingun), bred by Collon Ludivine Chamboulive and owned by Erwin Haider, topped the IRHA-IRHBA-NRHA and IRHA-NRHA Non Pro L1 divisions.

The Quarter Dream Non Pro Champions will be determined on Friday, March 29.

Open

Riding to a 227.5 score to top the first section of the DeNiroBootCo €58.000-added IRHA-IRHBA-NRHA and €48.160-added IRHA-NRHA L4 Open qualifier was NRHA Professional Manuel Cortesi aboard the Arcese/Cuoghi owned stallion, bred by the latter, July Joe Snap (Master Snapper x July Jo Magnetic). The duo boasts the IRHA Futurity Open, NRHA European Futurity Open, and NRHA Germany Breeders 4-year-old Futurity Championships.

“Today’s run was really good,” said a satisfied Cortesi. “I really liked the new ground and, as always, ‘Joe’ was fantastic. It's always great to show him, even though show after show it becomes more difficult to meet the expectations and goals. In the next few days, I will ride him as I always do and hope for a good final!

The second section of the Open Derby, which counts 152 combinations, will continue tomorrow.
